Modification Project of Overhead Crane Electrical System at Guizhou Dongfeng Hydropower Station by WEITE Successfully Passes Acceptance

Recently, the electrical system modification project for the 2×250T workshop overhead cranes at Guizhou Dongfeng Hydropower Station, undertaken by WEITE, has been fully completed with installation and commissioning within the tight construction period of just one month, and has successfully passed acceptance. This renovation has comprehensively enhanced the operational stability and safety of the equipment, providing a solid guarantee for the major overhauls of the hydropower station's generating units and its rotor hoisting operations.

As the core hoisting equipment of the hydropower station, this overhead crane is responsible for key tasks such as the major overhauls of generating units and the hoisting and transportation of rotors. To further ensure the absolute safety of hoisting operations, this modification project set the objectives of improving operational stability, enhancing operational safety and realizing intelligent condition monitoring, and carried out a comprehensive upgrade of the electrical control system.

The key focuses of the modification are as follows: a three-level control architecture of "Host Computer + PLC + Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) System" is adopted to achieve intelligent coordination of operation monitoring, logical control and mechanism driving; a fully independent emergency operation system is specially added, which can be swiftly switched to in the event of a main system malfunction to ensure the uninterrupted progress of hoisting operations. The emergency system is equipped with online operation and parallel operation functions, which greatly enhances the system's fault tolerance and emergency response capability.

At present, the upgraded overhead crane has been officially put into operation and will provide safer, more intelligent and reliable technical support for the hydropower station's overhaul operations.
